TITLE: Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A school bus driver needs to be in good physical condition
and be able to pass The DOT Physical Exam. (FMCSR 49 CFR
391.41 Physical Qualifications for Drivers)
2. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned
responsibilities.
3. Valid Driver’s License, properly endorsed, and acceptable
driving and accident record.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Transportation
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students
may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s
curriculum and extracurricular program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
5. Keeps assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps to assigned schedule.
7. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects, and reports any
problems to proper authority.
8. Discharges and picks students only at authorized stops.
9. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
10. Transports only authorized students.
11. Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
12. Participates all in-service training provided by District.
13. Maintains good personal hygiene habits.
14. Does all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
New Employees are required to be fingerprinted with PTSB or Fingerprinting Office - $20. Must also take the Online training on the internet.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Approximately 175 days; salary and
fringe benefits to be set by Board of Trustees.
